Sew Darn Tired

My camera is three years old and now will only take 2 or 3 photos at a time, but I have finally had the time to upload them to show you my fabric purchases from two weeks ago. When you look at these fabrics the colours are a little more vibrant than you see here and keep in mind they were all $3 per metre!!! What a buy! They also sell some made up things and I bought two wool jackets (unlined) and a black shiny plastic longer jacket (that I can't find at the moment) I will photograph these and show you soon. Now onto the fabrics, firstly, L - R a cotton sateen with some stretch, a green wool felt and a silk organza with some nobbly bits on some of the dots.    Secondly, a cotton voile, a remnant of silk chiffon (I think) and the next two are fabrics with metal through them.  The first one is a white cotton and the second is the same as the pinky colour I made the pink burda coat from.  (I can't get it to link up but check the older posts).  It was a tricky fa...

Well, I had lots of things to show today but my camera doesn't want to play so I can't show you the fabrics and clothes I bought at the fabric sale I went to (see previous post).  I can tell you I bought felted wool, silk organza, Japanese cotton voile, wool knit, and 2 fabrics with woven metal threads all for $3 per metre!!!  There is nothing you get for $3 per metre let alone this quality.  (even the remnants at Spotlight are $2 per metre!) Anyway will show you when I get the camera happy again. My sister is having her 40th birthday party tonight and it is an 80's themed party! Even though she was born in 1971 she thinks the music of the 80's was better! Well if you have read my blog for a little bit you will know I speak of a fabric sale that I go to that designers have.  I have gone here for years  and buy the most beautiful fabrics that are fabulous quality for an incredible price.  Now I am a tight a$$ but I always buy and it is beautiful stuff. Cottons, silks, wools lots of beautiful stuff...don't miss it.  I need to make lots of stuff while I am on holidays as I have NOTHING to wear that is decent for winter.  I am getting the word out there for the people who live in Brisbane or surrounds and can make it.  It's a bit out of the way but easy enough to get to and well worth the trip. I hope some of you can make it because it really is worth it. Hi Everyone.  I have just draw out the winner of my blogiversary giveaway. Well, on Wednesday 27 April I have been blogging for 12 months!  To celebrate I am giving away a length of fabric, some retro sunglasses and a 1948 tuxedo blouse pattern! The fabric I bought at a second hand shop on Bribie Island.  It's an openish weave, linen like fabric.  Not my colours (I don't do brown) but I saw it on someone a while ago in a lift and it looked nice.  There is 1 1/2 metres and it is 140cm wide.  The pattern is size 16 bust 36" .... I have seen one on the net and it is in colour... the lot of patterns I got at the jumble sale were all this era but all the McCalls are in black and white.  I have not opened it but presume it is all there (if I get time I will check).  The sunglasses are divine I think and I know someone will love them! I realised that I had said that I would post about the old retro patterns I had found at the jumble sale at the church up the road... I posted a couple of lovely dresses and then forgot all about it. I thought I would show some of the old pyjamas for girls, misses and women. Which do you like?  Aren't these the most darling! Not sure about the nightie but I like the others!
